Named for our own work in taking something meaningful and giving it new purpose, The Yellow Chair has been a leader in the Northern California Design & Build industry for the last 10 years. Led by husband and wife founders, Mike and Kallie McKean, seamlessly merging Design & Build expertise, resulting in both a business and family affair that brings a unique passion and commitment to excellence.

How we began
The chair
The story of how one piece of furniture could bind us in such a remarkable way resonates in everything we do.
This very simple, worn, much loved chair has found its way from porch to porch among many of our family members in years gone by. The underside is a sloppy mosaic of teal, red, orange and black …a glimpse of its story in years of paint. Painting it yellow gave it a second chance to be loved, to become something to grace OUR porch.
The now yellow chair, our chair, is a symbol for making OLD things NEW …and that is what we are all about! LET’S CONNECT
